Stoneman Lake 2009

friday afternoon we set off for the annual ward camp out on stoneman lake. our gear was packed and we were off. after a delicious dinner provided by the ward (thank you thank you) we had a sing-a-long followed by an uplifting fireside presentation put on by our bishopric. then it was dessert time. the kids could hardly wait for smores!

staying cozy by the fire.

the next morning, it was game time!

first off was the three legged relay. everyone, grab a partner!

heat 1 - 6 yrs and under



heat 2 - 8 yrs and under




heat 3 - 9 year olds

heat 4 was for the big kids




heat 5 & 6 were for the bigger kids

the next relay, was the water race.

ariana wanted a one legged race!

the bishopric and stake presidency were asked to volunteer for the mummy rap.

gone!

all race participants received a glen lakes medal.

but the games weren't over until we had the saw dust search and find.

the was fun to be had, candy to be found and a mess to be made!

thanks to the activity committee for the fun games!

the girls wanted to go for a hike/walk.

walks are best with friends who'll hold your hand!

last butt not least,
camping isn't camping if it isn't a little dirty!

The Other One

poor ariana. that is her nickname. 'the other one' jay says we have the brown one, the skinny one and the other one. real nice huh?!

well, when i walked into the other one's room this is what i found

her bed made and her pj's laid out! and don't forget edward (named after the vampire) laying nicely on her pillow. along side her bed is her monkey all tucked in as well.
isn't she too cute?!

p.s. i checked to see if her older sisters had made their beds this morning and caprice did not, alexis did but her room was a mess.

this was us one year ago today!

our wedding day!

this year has gone by so fast. i couldn't imagine my life without this wonderful man. on that beautiful day, we had our first dance as a married couple to a beautiful song. the words say it all...

we were given the opportunity to 'go out' and celebrate. my lovely sisters both helped with our little adventure. one volunteered to watch the girls for the night and the other hooked us up with a night stay at a nice hotel in old town scottsdale. super thanks to those two! after checking in and scoping out our room it was off to the pool for some much needed relaxing. ahhh so nice!
then we got all dressed up (kinda) for dinner at the old tortilla factory. it was delicious! and to top off our evening we shared dessert at the sugar bowl.

this has been an amazing year and i am super excited for our forever!

Family Home Evening

i started this project at super saturday (weeks ago). i was finally able to put the finishing touches on in and it is ready to use for our next family home evening.

Back To School 2009

the school asked for lots, and lots, and lots of supplies. everything from paper towels to paper plates and from glue sticks to reams of paper and from hand sanitizer to post it notes. x's that by 3 and this is what you get.

today was the first day for the girls at their new school. they had tons of fun shopping for all of their above supplies and of course all of their new school clothes. but they were all still a little hesitant on what their new school would be like. would they have nice teachers? would it be easy to make new friends? will there be homework on the first day? all of their fears and doubts were laid to rest. i asked each of the girls what was their favorite thing from today?...

alexis answered

"my teacher. she is really, really nice. she helps everyone in the class."

caprice answered

"i have two favorites and can't choose. first, i made lots of new friends in my class. and second, we played a fun game called around the world with our partners. it was fun."

ariana answered
"i have three favorites. one, my teacher is really nice. two, i got to play with my friends ally and sara at recess. three, was when you (me) came to have lunch with me."

looks like they were dressed for success and had tons of it!
