Red Ribbon Week

this week at the girl's school it's red ribbon week. the school has come up with fun slogans that go along with ways the kids can show their choice to stay off drugs.
monday: "together we stand" - twin day (friends dress alike)
*the girls planned with friends and dressed as twins, but i didn't get any pictures
tuesday: "i don't see drugs in my future" - wear your fav sun glasses
wednesday: "team up against drugs" - wear your favorite team shirt
thursday: "don't let drugs mix you up" - wear mixed matched clothes
ariana was the only one that was excited about today! she planned out her entire ensemble...from head to toe! 1 straight and 1 curly pony tail,
dress with non-matching leggings,
1 shoe and 1 flip flop.
nice huh?!
friday: "assembly day" - wear red!
i love spirit week! what was one of your favorite days to dress up?

Psalm 128:2

psalm 128:2 for thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands; happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
and happy we were! i didn't have too much luck with my garden this year, but i am still learning and enjoying tending to the few plants that are growing and producing.
on 9/19/10 the girls and i picked the watermelons that were growing and this is how they measured up:
these were very small but i could tell that they were not going to grow anymore
but this one was a decent size and the girls couldn't wait to see how it tasted.
so, after church it was cut up and sampled (the pieces were really just sample size lol) and the overall opinion was that it was quite tasty! yay me!

Free First Fridays

every first friday evening of each month you can take a free self-guided tour of the downtown phoenix galleries, studios and art galleries...and with a family of 5 we love anything free! this time we invited some family and friends along to share in the fun at the children's museum of phoenix.
the first stop was the fort room. it is my favorite! i really want a room like this in our house. it has everything you need to make the perfect fort.
since i was on crutches, dad had to climb up and give the girls a hand...not that he minded one bit! he lights up when the girls ask him to build forts at home!
anyone have a sawhorse that we can have?!

next was the art room. crayons + paper + scissors = heaven to my girls!

building stuff is so much fun and the pipe room was the perfect fit.

the climber! this wasn't completed the last time we came so we were all excited...but because my knee still wasn't good, i could just watch my fam have all the fun.
here they all are in the flying bathtub.
after hours of fun, it was time to give my knee (and because of the crutches, my armpits) a break and get some ice cream.
if you haven't been downtown for first fridays, i highly recommend it!
