I Do! I Do!

well, it was actually "yes! yes!"
this was us one year ago today!
our wedding day!
this year has gone by so fast. i couldn't imagine my life without this wonderful man. on that beautiful day, we had our first dance as a married couple to a beautiful song. the words say it all...
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
[Chorus:]
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart
they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way
into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
I think about the years I spent
just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost
and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan
that is coming true
[Chorus:]
Every long lost dream
led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart
they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
Now I'm just rollin' home
into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
that led me straight to you
bless the broken road by rascal flatts
we were given the opportunity to 'go out' and celebrate. my lovely sisters both helped with our little adventure. one volunteered to watch the girls for the night and the other hooked us up with a night stay at a nice hotel in old town scottsdale. super thanks to those two! after checking in and scoping out our room it was off to the pool for some much needed relaxing. ahhh so nice!
then we got all dressed up (kinda) for dinner at the old tortilla factory. it was delicious! and to top off our evening we shared dessert at the sugar bowl.
this has been an amazing year and i am super excited for our forever!

Back To School 2009

the school asked for lots, and lots, and lots of supplies. everything from paper towels to paper plates and from glue sticks to reams of paper and from hand sanitizer to post it notes. x's that by 3 and this is what you get.
today was the first day for the girls at their new school. they had tons of fun shopping for all of their above supplies and of course all of their new school clothes. but they were all still a little hesitant on what their new school would be like. would they have nice teachers? would it be easy to make new friends? will there be homework on the first day? all of their fears and doubts were laid to rest. i asked each of the girls what was their favorite thing from today?...
alexis answered
"my teacher. she is really, really nice. she helps everyone in the class."

caprice answered
"i have two favorites and can't choose. first, i made lots of new friends in my class. and second, we played a fun game called around the world with our partners. it was fun."

ariana answered
"i have three favorites. one, my teacher is really nice. two, i got to play with my friends ally and sara at recess. three, was when you (me) came to have lunch with me."

looks like they were dressed for success and had tons of it!

Daddy Mack

before jay and i got married, caprice asked if it was alright that she called jay 'daddy mack' instead of step-dad. of course, with tears in my eyes, i told her that he (we) would love that.
the past 10 months have been so wonderful. having jay as the head of our little family is such a blessing. in one of the talks given on sunday it was said "the most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother." i had never really thought about that fact. but it is so true! i know that i am able to be a better mother, sister, friend and wife because of jay's love for me. and to show our love for our daddy mack we got him a new grill!
below you will see he wasted no time in using it!

i know i tell you all the time jay, but i want you to know

i love you!

The Good Ship Lollipop

for girls camp, each ward had to make a ship. we ran out of time during mutual, so i volunteered to make it at home with the help of my wonderful husband. i looked online to find just the right ship for us. and here is what we came up with...

it stands 5'4 inches tall and is 4'4 inches from sail to sail!

and has a picture of all the girls from the gl ward and the mr ward waving good-bye to you as we set sail for camp.

here is our ward being silly with our bishop right in the middle of the fun!

glen lakes (in purple) and manistee ranch (in orange).

all together 15 young women and 7 leaders.
